I can’t quite believe I’m writing this blog as the last 12 months have flown by at lightning speed, but it’s true – today marks my one-year anniversary of working at ResourceiT and wow! what a year it has been!
Although starting a new job in the middle of a global pandemic has had its challenges, I was lucky enough to spend the best part of 3 months in the office getting to know the team, our clients and going through a brilliant face to face onboarding process before lockdown 2.0 hit, which I’ll forever be grateful for!
Having previously spent nearly 9 years working for the corporate tech distributing giant that is Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, stepping out of my comfort zone from the world of Vendor Marketing Management and into agency side was something COMPLETELY different for me, and I’ll happily admit scary at first! Whilst I loved the relationships I had built with the vendors in my last role, I was more than ready to embrace something completely different and to get involved with more end user marketing – something that the role at ResourceiT promised to offer.
Hands down, the biggest challenge I found moving from a large corporate to a small, boutique style marketing agency has been the cultural change. Moving from using an agency to being the agency required a complete mindset shift, however the beautiful thing about ResourceiT is that no matter how silly my questions, nobody minded one little bit. The personalised support and senior mentorship I have received from the team has been nothing short of amazing – it’s not often you find a CEO so willing to get involved in your development and invest so much time in 1:1 bespoke training.
The progress I’ve made, knowledge I’ve gained and skills I’ve improved on have demonstrated just how much of a fantastic step in my career development joining the team at ResourceiT has been. Not to mention the array of incredible initiatives I’ve found myself involved with since joining. For instance, being the Project Manager of TC4RE is something completely out of the box and different to what I’ve ever worked on before, and working for a company that values diversity and inclusion so much is just amazing. I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months (…and more) has in store for me!
