Charity of the quarter
At ResourceiT, we are powered by people, purpose and passion. And when we say people, we don’t just mean our clients and our employees. We care just as much about the communities that make our world go round.
We believe in creating shared value across our local area and beyond, which is why we dedicate as many resources as possible to facilitating social responsibility and making sure we can pay it forward.
When it comes to racial equality, we can all do better. As one of the 10 founding organisations of TC4RE, we pledge to do everything in our power to positively impact the representation and career development of black and minority ethnic individuals within the technology sector.
We were TC4RE’s chosen execution agency in delivering awareness and skills development programmes to more than 30% of the Top 500 UK IT organisations in 2022. Our social media support got the organisation seen and heard, and we look forward doing more great work in the future.
Co-founded by our CEO, Julie Simpson, the WIT Network is a global and local Not-For-Profit organisation dedicated to driving the diversity and inclusion agenda. The organisation works to inspire, educate and empower women, and to help companies change the gender equality landscape within their business.
Core goals include attracting more young women to the IT industry, encouraging more female entrepreneurs, and facilitating more female leadership within tech sectors. Today the WIT Network has more than 3,500 members in over 40 countries.
Our General Manager, Tory, is on the board for St Michael’s Hospice. Sitting in the marketing hotseat, she brings her digital marketing and technology expertise to the table to support the leadership team and Income Generation Committee in reaching their goals.
Tory is the charities youngest Trustee and is a proud advocate for diversity and inclusion. Her work also involves numerous DEI initiatives with other local and global businesses promoting women and millennials in leadership.
Gavriella Schuster’s social support initiatives help to give everyone – no matter their age, gender or race – a voice in the workplace. #ALLIES is a framework that encourages people to advocate for others, to listen to your peers, to lift others up, to be inclusive of their colleagues and to elevate and sponsor those that aren’t present.
Our work helped to launch this programme, and we’re proud to be a part of Gavriella’s journey in bringing about positive change in the industry.
With Charlotte's wonderful Dad in mind, who she sadly lost in 2016, November 2021 saw us turn the office purple in support of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, A hive of purple outfits, purple cakes and purple lights we raised over £450 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
June 2022 saw Cheryl and a team of pals take on the Cotswold Way Challenge - a two day trek totalling a staggering 100km.
With the exception of a badly sprained ankle, Cheryl came away unscathed, with this amazing group of ladies raising over £4200 for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
Last September, Bernadette took on the ultimate challenge of a 100km trek across the Scottish Highlands. Raising over £2750 for breast cancer charity, CoppaFeel! Bernadette was joined on the trek by celebrities including Giovanna Fletcher, Emma Willis and Candice Brown. What an achievement!
We like to celebrate and support those charities that are close to the hearts of our team. One of which is always Pride month. This year (2022), we celebrated with a cake sale - raising over £400 for the charity, Stonewall.
That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.
