At ResourceiT, no two days are the same, and that is exactly how Steven likes it. As an Account Manager in our Client Services Team, he thrives in the fast pace and the variety that comes with agency life. From building client relationships to steering campaign delivery, Steven is right at the centre of the action, and he would not have it any other way.

This month, we sat down with Steven to talk about his journey, the lessons he has learned and what drives him to do his best work every day.

Please introduce yourself Steven, to the folks at home

My name is Steven Hibbert. I am 29, and I am married to my amazing wife Issy. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary in July and we are about to move house, which we are both excited about. The journey to get there has not been easy though.

Generally, I would describe myself as a detail person. I like to be organised and I try to avoid stress by reading things carefully and planning ahead. I make a lot of notes and I try to listen properly. I also hate being late and I am usually the first one in and the last one out. Commitment matters to me.

Tell us about a typical day in the life of Steven Hibbert

When asked what a typical day looks like, Steven laughs.

Working in an agency, it is hard to say what a normal day really is because the work is so varied. Some days I have my head in numbers and deadlines, planning budgets, aligning resources and making sure we deliver the best results for our customers. Other days, I am planning campaigns with colleagues and working with the creative team on new briefs. Either way, I love it. Every day brings something different, and that keeps it exciting.

What do you do in your spare time?

When it is time to switch off, Steven has a new hobby.

As I get closer to 30, I have taken up running. It started as a way to keep up with small talk with my friends, but I am actually enjoying it. It is good for my social life and brilliant for clearing my head after a busy day.

Tools of the trade that could you not live without?

Steven gives credit to technology.

AI is the obvious one. It helps automate some of the more mundane tasks, which means I can spend more time on strategic work and engaging with clients. But recently I found something far less technical that has genuinely changed my working day an ergonomic desk footrest. It sounds simple, but it has made a big difference.

It is a nice reminder that comfort and productivity are closely linked.

How do you keep up with customer demand?

For Steven, the most rewarding part of IT marketing is how fast it evolves.

Our customers come to ResourceiT when they are juggling a lot and it is hard for them to keep pace. I love helping them turn plans into something real and ultimately into opportunity.

He enjoys being the link between strategy and execution.

Seeing a campaign come to life and knowing it contributes directly to a client’s growth is incredibly satisfying. I like to get stuck in and be an extra pair of hands wherever I am needed. My priorities are set by what my clients need most. I ask questions, check in with them and make sure my time is spent where it matters most. It is all about our clients.

Where did your interest in channel marketing come from?

Steven’s interest in marketing began at university, where a yearly marketing module quickly became a favourite.

It was always the highlight of the year. IT came into the picture when the opportunity at ResourceiT appeared. The speed and energy of the hiring process told me a lot. From the first interview to the job offer took five days, and two of those were the weekend. That energy was exactly what I wanted to see and it gave me a great insight into what life in the IT channel would be like. And I love it.

How has your confidence grown since you joined?

If you had told the version of me that started at ResourceiT in 2021 what I would be doing now, I would have politely nodded and said, ‘Ah, ok, cool…’ just to end the conversation.

Today Steven leads client relationships, works across departments and takes campaigns from start to finish.

The version of me now is far more confident than I ever imagined. The chance to grow and develop has been the best part of my journey here.

How has working at ResourceiT helped you to develop?

For Steven, the biggest factor is access.

ResourceiT supports me in developing in the areas linked to my responsibilities. But the best part is the access I have to people around me. Access to colleagues, senior leaders, and anyone I need to help me learn on the job. I do not take that for granted.

What would you do if you could swap roles for a day?

“I’d love to spend a day with the design team, as long as I get their skills for the day too. I know my way around Adobe Creative Cloud, sort of, but I would love to create something like the masterpieces they produce. Their work always blows me away.”

Who at ResourceiT inspires you?

It is a bit of a cop out but there is not one single person. The whole team inspires each other in different ways, through actions, words or insights, and it happens all the time. I hope I do the same for others.

That shared inspiration shapes an environment where ideas flow easily.

We are a small team in the grand scheme of things. We have all known each other a while now, and that connection makes collaboration fun. As for creativity, everyone has it in their own way. That is what makes agency life here so special.
